Mangled Metal Today

Today we had a nice little 15 point Mangled Metal game. There were only 5 of us because Warmachine isn't very popular in the area. Game 1 was pretty fun, Khador on Khador, Butcher on Vlad. I decided to run Butcher because I don't want to overuse Karchev too much, or somebody will figure out a way to beat him ;)

Butcher of Khardov

Kodiak

Juggernaut

Berzerker

First game

pVlad

Juggernaut

Marauder

Berzerker

Game went like this: He started first and ran his stuff up. I ran my stuff up, I put Fury on my 'zerker. He feated and got the charge off onto my Kodiak with the 'zerker and missed the first shot and took a good chunk of hull out of my Cortex row with the second Axe. Merauder charged the Kodiak but missed by about 3/4 of an inch. The juggernaut proceeded to remove the arms from my Berzerker like a child with a fly.

On my turn I alocated three to the Juggernaut and Butcher moved up behind the Kodiak and cast Full Throttle, a very good investment for the situation, and popped feat. The Kodiak threw the Berzerker towards Vlad after dilivering some not-so-critical strikes that barely did anthing. The Berzerker headbutted the Juggernaut that had wronged him and my Juggernaut went up and reduced his Merauder to flinders. 4X P+S 19 Ice axes that crit on the first are pretty burutal, even to the Motherland.

He gave a point to his 'zerker to stand and the other two to his Jugger. Vlad stayed back and S&Ped. The Berzerker shook and charged back into the Kodiak, but thanks to rolling abyssmally did little more than remove one arm. The Juggernaut, on the other hand, opened a fresh can of whoop ass on my 'zerker and returned my flinders with some of his own.

My turn looked like this:

Butcher kept three for himself and gave the Jugger the others. A Juggernaut with three focus is a very, very scary thing. Kodiak stepped to the side and took a pock shot at his 'zerker and did some damage, then the Butcher cast Full Throttle and charged in. Using two focus Butch ripped the 'zerker several new holes and watched it fall over with a grin on his face, I imagine. First Butch kill all season. The Juggernaut charged over the wreck marker of his friend and enemy and obliterated his doppleganger with four well hitting Ice Axes to the dome. For thoes of you keeping track, Butcher has two functioning warjacks and Vlad has zero.

Vlad, being ever trixy, cast Blood of Kings, Boundless Charge, and went right over his own Berzerker wreck to Buch's face. This was by far the scariest part of the evening.

The Berzerker model was moved to allow Vlad in.

Vlad rolled pretty well untill the killstroke, which he botched leaving Butcher with five hit points and really pissed off. Butcher activates, Full Throttle (remember, Butcher is part of his own Battlefroup) and slaughters Vlad with three quick swipes of Lola.

All in all a very epic game, there was much metal Mangled and everyone involved enjoyed watching Khador 'jacks ripping into each other like that. Game rating: 5/5

Game two:

pHaley

Defender

Ironclad

Charger

This game was a disaster for the Motherland, but not by my own fault. Haley is just broken. No pictures are needed for what is to folow.

Butcher gets Iron Flesh on himself and his 'jacks run up. Dude runs his stuff up too, takes a shot with defender for 'zerker's left arm. Run 'jacks and Butch up. He advances up so i'm all in his control and TBs. The rest of the game I would advance up and Vent Steam, and then he would move 4" back, cast TB, take a shot with defender and let me advance to where I was again. We timed out when he wanted to look up a rule in the book that had little relevance to the game. Game rating: 1/5

I'd just like to thank PP for putting the book out there, and allowing those of us who were fortunate to get it to say some stuff. Its all profit for you guys, because people will buy stuff for their lists when they get the book

Oh, and to anyone who thinks I plagerized from that other blog, I didn't. I got mine from the same source he did. I actually posted the ones he failed to credit :P

Khador News

Now is an exciting time for Khador, my home faction. Our faction book has been put back a week, but the new release is fast approaching. I am super excited about the book, and I cannot wait to get the new content. Fluff is a priority for me, seeing as how I soak that stuff up like a sponge. I also can't wait to get my hands on the Tier lists for Karchev, Old Witch, and others. From what I know, Karchev tier two gives him some sort of speed-thing (it was an offhand comment from the poster) and his tier 4 will reduce the cost of his 'jacks by 1. Now, I am a man who loves him some giant robots, so this is all good for me. The down side, that second tier we discussed previously? It requires two units of Man-o-Wars to get to. This is a problem for me in two ways. Firstly, I'd rather just take a 'jack at that cost because its Karchev. Come on. Secondly, I don't acutally own any MoW. I was hoping to get some plastic kits to work for and magnitize them first. I guess we'll see what happens.

The Beginning of the End

Hello and welcome to Man in the Machine, my new Warmachine blog. Here I will have battle reports, rampant speculation, my opinions, and hopefully some fun stuff down the line. I go to my Local Gaming Store (LGS) on Thursdays, Warmachine night, so I should have updates up that night, or the next day, depending on how late we decide to go. 1:00 games are not uncommon, and epic and/or funny stories usually ensue.
